Why We Hike Together

Break Isolation

You move to a new country and suddenly you don’t know anyone. Your old friends are 6,000 miles away. That’s lonely. On our hikes, you’ll meet people who went through the same thing — and they’ll tell you stuff that actually helps.

Navigate AI Disruption

AI is killing some jobs and creating others. That’s not a theory — it’s happening right now. Our speakers break down what’s going on, which skills are worth learning, and where in LA you can get retrained for free or cheap.

Build Real Networks

There’s something about walking next to someone for two hours that makes real conversation happen. Not the “nice to meet you” kind. The kind where you actually exchange numbers and text each other the next week.

What Happens on a Hike

Here’s what actually happens when you show up to one of our hikes.

Welcome Circle

Everyone meets at the trailhead. Quick introductions — name, where you’re from, what you do. Nothing formal. Speak whatever language you want.

Guest Speaker

Someone who knows their stuff gives a 10-15 minute talk. Could be about AI and jobs, could be about finding affordable housing in LA, could be about starting an LLC. Depends on the week.

Walk & Talk

We break into small groups and start walking. There are conversation starters if you need them, but honestly, most people just start talking on their own.

Closing & Connect

Back where we started. People share what stuck with them, swap phone numbers, maybe grab coffee after. We’ll tell you about the next hike too.

Nobody hands you a manual when you move to LA. Where to find an apartment you can afford, how Metro actually works, which clinics don’t ask for insurance.

Starting a Business in California

You want to start a business? Someone who did it will tell you how. The LLC paperwork, the permits, the part where you need your first 10 customers and have zero.

Did you know your landlord can’t just raise rent whenever they feel like it in LA? Lawyers and nonprofit staff come talk about the rights and resources you probably don’t know you have.

Our Event Formats

Everything’s free. Pick whatever works for you.

Trail Hikes with Speakers

Two to three hours on real trails — Temescal Canyon, Griffith Park, Runyon, Franklin Canyon.

Difficulty: Easy to moderate

Sunset Downtown Walks

We start at Union Station and walk through the Arts District or along the LA River.

Difficulty: Easy (flat)

Lakeside & Park Gatherings

Lake Balboa, Echo Park — a short walk and then a longer conversation with a panel.

Beach Meetups

Morning walk along Santa Monica or Venice Beach. Stretching, a speaker circle, and open conversation.
